CONCEPT
To portray this narrative, I opted to emphasize the story line of an evacuee relocating from London to the countryside. Drawing inspiration from the tale and considering the preferences of the audience, I adapted and portrayed the story within its appropriate historical context. This was achieved by incorporating children's toys that captivate the younger audience with their playful nature and employing simple flat vector illustrations that appeal to adults.
-Second world war
-Childhood, growth – evacuee
-Evacuation from London - Trains, in 1940s , Train tracks,
-The Darkness – war personalities, atmosphere , plot, blackout curtains
-Abuse and trauma
-The power of expression
-Expressive arts -plays a huge role in the unfolding of the plot
-The duality of good and evil
-The importance of community – city vs country life
-Loss, love.
